Why We Built This Site
Otsego County uses three legally distinct trial courts that share administration under a Concurrent Jurisdiction Plan. That can simplify courthouse operations without making every record searchable in one place. The County Clerk is Clerk of the 46th Circuit Court and keeps Circuit Court records. The 87-A District Court has its own clerk function, and Probate has a probate register. The county’s Courts overview and jurisdiction page explain the division of work.
Public search follows the same division. MiCOURT is the relevant public path for 46th Circuit matters, while the Circuit 46 local portal carries the 87-A District Court case table and the combined 87-A/Probate calendar. A record that does not appear in one product may belong to another court division or have restricted access. The purpose of this resource is to make that routing clear before a reader relies on a search result.
What You Will Find Here
The content focuses on official Otsego County court access routes and the difference between a public docket index, a calendar listing, and the case file held by a clerk.
- Docket guides: Otsego County criminal dockets and civil dockets, including the court that commonly holds each type.
- Hearing information: the court calendar paths for 46th Circuit and for the combined 87-A District and Probate environment.
- Case routing: a case search by name or known number through MiCOURT or the local 87-A portal.
- Record requests: the clerk and court division that maintain court records, including certified-copy questions.
What We Cannot Do
Otsego County Court Docket is privately operated and is not part of the Michigan judiciary, Otsego County government, or any clerk’s office. The official court and clerk remain the source for a current case status, court date, public document, or certified copy.
- We cannot retrieve an official docket sheet or file from a court system.
- We cannot set, change, or confirm a hearing date.
- We cannot seal, amend, or remove a court record.
- We cannot issue a certified copy, order, judgment, or transcript.
- We cannot provide legal advice about a pending matter or deadline.
- We cannot guarantee a public display contains every current, historical, or restricted record.
Only the clerk or court that maintains the Otsego County case file can provide an official or certified record. A public search is a way to locate that custodian, not a replacement for the record itself.
Search Partners
Some pages include search boxes supplied by third-party providers. Those providers operate their own services and set their own prices, terms, and data practices. A referral fee may be received when a provider leads to a paid signup. Those tools do not replace the official MiCOURT Case Search, the local court portals, or a request to the correct Otsego County clerk.
