Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
When a query is entered into a search tool supplied by a third party, that provider receives and processes the entry under its own practices. Otsego County Court Docket does not maintain a court-case database from those queries.
Messages and Contact Submissions
If an email is sent to the site operator, the message and its contact information may be retained to respond and manage the communication. It is not shared outside the operator except when disclosure is required by law or reasonably necessary to protect rights, safety, or service operations.
Data We Gather Automatically
Like most websites, the service may receive technical information when a page is requested. That information can include:
- IP address and device connection information
- Browser type, version, and operating system
- Pages viewed and approximate time spent on them
- Referring page or service, when available
- Date and time of page requests
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies and analytics tools may be used to understand aggregate traffic, site performance, and technical errors. Browser settings can block or remove cookies, though some features may then work differently. Analytics reports are intended to measure site use, not to create official court records.
What We Do With This Data
Technical and contact information may be used to operate, secure, maintain, and improve the service. It may also support delivery of a requested third-party search, site analytics, troubleshooting, and advertising functions. The information is not used to alter an Otsego County court docket or decide whether a court record is public.
- Maintain page delivery and site security
- Route a request to the selected partner tool
- Measure aggregate traffic and site performance
- Investigate technical faults or misuse
- Support advertising displayed through outside services
No Court-Record Data on File
Otsego County Court Docket does not host, maintain, compile, or sell an Otsego County docket or case-file database. It provides general directions to the 46th Circuit Court, 87-A District Court, Probate Court, and official public search routes. The court of record controls its official file, while the County Clerk is the Circuit Court record custodian.
Michigan court-record access is governed chiefly by Michigan Court Rule 8.119 and related statutes, court rules, and orders. The Michigan Freedom of Information Act, MCL 15.231 et seq., applies to county administrative records where applicable; it does not override a court record’s sealing, privacy, or nonpublic status. This resource is not a consumer reporting agency.
Third-Party Search Partners
Search boxes and sponsored tools may be supplied by outside companies. Information entered into one of those tools is subject to the provider’s own privacy policy, retention rules, and terms. Otsego County Court Docket does not control the provider’s responses, availability, pricing, or handling of an entered query.
Links to Other Websites
Links to the Otsego County courts, clerk pages, MiCOURT, local portals, and other sources take a visitor to services governed by their own policies. Review the destination’s privacy terms before submitting personal information. Advertising providers may also use their own technologies to measure or deliver advertisements.
Who Might See Your Data
Personal data is not sold by the site operator. Information may be processed by service providers only as needed for the functions described in this policy, including:
- Third-party search providers for a submitted query
- Analytics or hosting providers used for site performance
- Advertising networks serving content on the site
- Government entities or others when a valid legal obligation requires disclosure
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable administrative and technical safeguards are used for information held by the site operator. No online system can promise absolute security, and transmission or storage risks cannot be eliminated entirely.
Users Under 18
The service is intended for adults and does not knowingly seek personal information from children. If the operator learns that a child has supplied personal information directly, reasonable steps will be taken to delete it where practicable.
Your Data Rights
Requests about information held by this private site can ask for access, correction, deletion, or an explanation of the site’s processing practices. Michigan’s court-access framework remains separate: public inspection, copying, restrictions, and electronic case-history access are governed by Michigan Court Rule 8.119 and the court of record. A county FOIA request must follow the county’s process and the Michigan FOIA where it applies.
- Ask for a copy of applicable information held by the operator
- Request correction of inaccurate contact information
- Request deletion of direct-contact data where retention is not required
- Ask questions about the processing described in this policy
Updates to This Policy
This policy may be revised as the service or applicable practices change. A revised version takes effect when posted here.
